Frequently asked
- When does the meter count someone as active?
- Only when a paystub has been issued (status = issued) with a pay date inside your billing cycle. Adding workers without paying them is free.
- Do you handle filings?
- Not yet. PayStub produces compliant paystubs, withholds correctly, and exports W-2 / 1099-NEC CSVs at year end. We are not a tax-filing service yet — most customers use Tax1099 or Track1099 to file the W-2/1099s we export.
- Which states are supported?
- California at launch. Texas, Florida, and New York are next. Our tax engine architecture is per-state from day one; adding a state is mostly tables, not code.
- Can I cancel anytime?
- Yes. Cancel from the Stripe Customer Portal. Your data stays accessible for export for 7 years per IRS retention rules. Full deletion is a one-click request.
